FAQs About BHFV

Some Frequently Asked Questions

WHEN ARE YOU OPEN AND WHAT ABOUT LIVE MUSIC?
On weekends during our outdoor season (mid-May to mid-Nov.), we are open from 11 am to 7 pm Saturday (live music from 11:30am-6pm), and noon till 7:00 Sunday (live music from 2-6pm). There is never a cover charge! BHFV is open seven days a week in the summer and fall. After Thanksgiving, please check our site (add link here) or call for hours at 631-369-0100.

WHAT DRINKS DO YOU SERVE?
For those who enjoy award-winning wines, our Tasting House offers our visitors a wide variety of options. You can purchase one taste for $4, 3 tastes for $9, 4 tastes for $11 and 6 tastes for $16 plus tax. You can also purchase wine by the glass and by the bottle. Other beverage choices include beer, “frozen wine-a-ritas” (during our outdoor season), cider, sodas, juices, and bottled water.

WHEN IS A RESERVATION REQUIRED?
You don’t need to make a reservation for tastings unless you are coming in a limo or a party bus (many companies will arrange this for you). We must have this reservation in order to accommodate the vehicle. Please note that this does not reserve a table for you. However, if you prefer, we do offer a “reserved seating lunch” for $29.99 plus tax which includes an appetizer, a luncheon selection , side of pasta salad or chips, and soft drink, and the aforementioned reserved seating on one of our tented decks or patio. This must be ordered and paid for in advance.

CAN YOU ACCOMMODATE A PARTY FOR AN OCCASION?
We have lovely full party packages that include a private deck area, servers, a buffet lunch with wonderful menus and party decor. Packages start at $42 pp. Private parties and showers are a special experience and take place on a tented deck or in our beautiful new private area. Affordable weddings and other events are our specialty!

DO YOU SELL FOOD?
On an a la carte basis, we have lots of good food for sale from a catering truck -including our famous “merlot meatballs,”  numerous kinds of cheese at our gourmet artisanal cheese bar and fruit plates, a wide variety of delicious of food options – as well as the Long Island Pie Company with home baked pies during our outdoor season.

CAN WE PICNIC AT BHFV?
For visitors who choose to bring their own food, we do have a limited number of picnic tables available – but they go quickly on a first-come, first-served basis. Unlike the covered deck area, which is reserved for those who purchase our food, the picnic tables are exposed to the elements and may not be an option in bad weather (a disappointment, no matter where you plan a picnic). In addition, we do not allow coolers, picnic baskets or any outside beverages. You are welcome to unload your cooler, however, and store it in your car. Catered food is not permitted but we do offer picnic packages to make for a more pleasurable experience which allows you to picnic no matter the weather.

WHAT ABOUT TOURS?
For those who are interested in a tour, we do have tours of our horse rescue on Saturdays and Sundays in season, weather permitting, at 1:30 pm. 3:00 pm and 4:30 pm. No reservations are required, and there is a nominal donation to our non-profit sanctuary of only $5 for ages 12 and up. Children are free. If you take the tour, there is an opportunity to ask the guide questions about the vineyard as well as about the horses.

DO YOU SELL GIFTS AND SOUVENIRS?
For those who enjoy shopping, we have a wonderful selection of wine-related items and serving pieces in our award-winning gift boutique. In addition, we have some fun t-shirts and aprons that make delightful souvenirs. You will also love the wide variety of beautiful jewelry that is available for purchase.

If you have any additional questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. We look forward to welcoming you. Please call us at 631-369-0100 for reservations or if you have any other questions.

We look forward to your visit with us.
